Founders Open Room

Every business has growth bottlenecks. Most founders cannot see their own.

Three real businesses, looked at live. By the end of the hour, you will see yours more clearly.

Monday 26 October · 5pm CET · 12pm ET · 9am PT

Save your seat to watch, or apply for one of three hot seats when you register.

Save my seat

For the expert whose credibility arrived long before her business did. You know something is holding it back. You just can't see it from inside.

Most founders never have someone look at their whole business and tell them what is in the way.

Once a month, I do exactly that, live, for three founders, and everyone in the room learns to see their own.

It isn't that you're missing something obvious. It's that nobody can see their own business clearly from inside it.
I can, because I'm not inside yours.

Save my seat

You are not short on expertise.

You have spent years, possibly decades, becoming exceptional at what you do.

A career. A reputation. Results that speak for themselves in the rooms where people already know you.

Now you are building a business around that expertise.

Maybe two years in. Maybe ten. The time in business doesn't change the pattern.

The knowledge is real. The results are real. The credibility isn't the question.

What you're still working out is why the business isn't growing the way your expertise says it should, and where exactly it's stuck.

In my experience, the bottleneck almost always sits in one of three places.
↓

How people find you and decide to reach out

The right people admire your work and never quite get in touch. Or they get in touch only because someone who already trusts you sent them. Either way, you don't control when the next one arrives.

How people decide to work with you

The interest is there, and the conversations happen. But turning a conversation into a commitment depends on you explaining what you do, in person, every single time.

What holds it all together

The offer, the message, and the path from stranger to client don't connect. Each piece was built at a different time, for a different reason, and nothing links them without you.

Most businesses have a version of all three.
And most founders are working hard on the one that isn't the real problem.

That's not a sign you're doing it wrong.

It's a sign that expertise and building the business around it are two completely different skills, and nobody ever taught you the second one.

The bottleneck founders miss most often is the one they are standing in.

See how many of these feel familiar:

  • Every inquiry still comes through you.
  • You are the only one who can explain what you offer well enough to sell it.
  • A slow month follows every busy one, because you were too busy delivering to sell.
  • Referrals slow down whenever you stop reaching out.
  • A week away means the business pauses with you.

If three of these are familiar, it isn't effort. The business was built around you.

It's the bottleneck I find most often, and it's the hardest one to see from the inside, because you are very good at keeping it moving. In the room, you will watch it get found in real businesses, and you will know whether it's yours.

This is not a webinar.

No slides. No rehearsed case studies. No replay.

And no shift-your-beliefs performance designed to make you feel inspired for three days before nothing actually changes.

You've sat through enough of those. This is the opposite.

Just real businesses, looked at live, and what I would change first. The most helpful hour you'll spend in a long time.

Three hot seats

Three founders apply to have their business looked at in front of the room. I find the bottleneck, show what it's connected to, and name the first move.

Anyone who registers can apply. You could be one of them.

→ You watch someone else's business and recognize your own before the hour is out.

A lightning round

Two-minute spot-checks on businesses dropped in the chat. Anyone in the room could be picked.

→ Every person in the room has a reason to show up live.

Your own answers, written down

Before the room, you receive a one-page follow-along sheet with the same questions I ask each hot seat. As each business is diagnosed, you answer them for yours.

→ You don't just watch. You leave with your own business on paper.

A Claude skill, for live attendees only

At the end of the room, everyone who came live receives a Claude skill I designed to help you find one small bottleneck in how clients find you, and recommend one thing to change this week.

→ It goes to live attendees only. It isn't in the replay, because there is no replay.

You could post more. You could spend more time in the DMs. You could try a new platform, rewrite your offer again, or add another thing to the pile.

And you probably have.

You already know more effort would probably move something. That's exactly the problem.

When you don't know where the real bottleneck is, every fix is a guess. Some of them work for a while. Most of them add work. None of them tell you why the business keeps stalling in the same place.

You take the summer off and September looks suspiciously slow. A large client lands, you disappear into delivery, and three weeks later you realize nobody has been creating the next opportunity. You finally take the holiday you built this business to be able to take, and you come home knowing you have to start the whole thing up again.

One hour. Three real businesses. Yours, seen more clearly.

Suzanne Acteson

I am Suzanne.

I spent 25 years in global advertising and brand strategy, and the last seven years working with expert women on the businesses they built around their expertise.

What I do best is see the whole picture. Where the business is stuck, what that's connected to, and what to change first. It's rarely what the founder expects.

I kept watching the same thing happen to accomplished women, and I recognized it because it had happened to me. Real expertise. Real results. A reputation that opened doors. And a business that still couldn't grow without them carrying every part of it.

Not because the expertise wasn't real. Because expertise and building the business around it are two different skills, and nobody had ever asked them to build the second one before.

The Founders Open Room is the simplest way I know to show you what I see. Once a month, in real businesses, live.

What the women I work with say.

Want your business in the hot seat?

When you save your seat, you can also apply for one of three hot seats. The application takes a few minutes and asks three questions:

  1. What do you do, and who do you do it for?
  2. Where do your clients come from right now?
  3. What would you most like me to look at?

I choose three businesses that, together, show the room the most. If you're chosen, I'll email you personally before the session to confirm. Hot seats are revealed live, so come ready either way.

Not chosen this month? You still leave with your follow-along sheet completed, the Claude skill, and a clearer view of your own business. And there's another room next month.
